Law & technology
I’m interested in the space where legal thinking meets useful technology: how clearer processes and better tools can help people do careful work.

“I believe there should always be room for wonder, and for not having it all figured out.”
Founder of LIAsteris. Writing about the work of building better systems, the intersection of law and technology, and the lessons that emerge when perspective changes.
A note from Lawrence
In 2025, I lost my job three months before defending my thesis. I kept working and defended it with an A. That achievement mattered, but it didn’t make the next professional steps straightforward. Another career setback followed, and I had to rethink what progress could look like.
I began to pay closer attention to the work behind the work: the handoffs, records, routines and decisions that allow a business to function well. That shift in perspective became part of the reason I built LIAsteris.
I don’t believe every answer arrives before you begin. Sometimes you make room for wonder, do the next useful thing, and build a clearer path as you go.

A growing organisation needs more than ambition. It needs work that can be explained, handed over and improved without losing the details that matter.
I’m learning what it takes to build a company around reliable support, responsible scope and practical progress, one considered decision at a time.
